Introduction - The Value of Learning In hard and uncertain times the best investment one can make is in preparing one's mind and soul for whatever upheavals the future may hold. Education is your greatest need and will become your greatest asset! Yet, there are so many things to learn, so many skills to acquire. This is true and no one knows what challenges they will face and what specific skills they will need in the future. Of all the skills and education one must have and what should be placed above all is one's spiritual skills and religious education. Let me explain. The future is uncertain. We can prepare for every kind of scenario. Yet, there is one constant throughout everything. You still remain you. Regardless of all your preparations, and "bullets and beans," you still remain you. Your heart and soul will be as weak or as strong, regardless of everything that you surround it with. The real problem and the real solution is the same. They are both you! Therefore investing in bettering yourself is of the highest priority and value. You can't take your stuff with you, but whatever you place within your mind and soul will stay with you forever, in this world and in the world to come. Learning is therefore living. Let us learn together, and thereby learn the secrets of life (life in this world and life eternal). I am now introducing a new series of live, online, interactive courses that will certainly educate, enlighten and even entertain you. These new topics are not being taught anywhere else other than here at KosherTorah.com by yours truly. I have chosen these unique topics to expand one's spectrum of religious learning and to include within it areas seldom explored, but of viral interests to today's needs. Religious topics are a unique blend of psychology, prophecy and down-to-earth practical advice. They contain the secrets of the universe and reveal many secrets about things very close to us, yet often invisible to the human eye. Learning then to see these things are to properly interact with them gives one the great advantage, regardless of what the future may hold. I will now introduce to you the topics for the Fall Semester to be taught here at KosherTorah.com. All the details of registration and fees will be posted at the end. I believe that each of you should find here at least one topic of extreme interest and will join me as we explore the secrets together. KosherTorah Online School for Advanced Biblical Studies Class 1 - Advanced Torah Mysticism, Kabbalistic Magic 101, Semester 1 THIS CLASS IS PRESENTLY FULL & IN SESSION, NO FURTHER ACESS CAN BE GRANTED AT THIS TIME. After long deliberations, I have decided that I am going to start a group for private study in topics of ancient Kabbalistic practices and rituals of what some (but not me) call the Magical School (Kabbalah Ma'asit). This course will focus on the practical applications of spirituality and so-called magic as found in ancient Torah traditions, all the way up modern times. We will be examining actual Kabbalistic rituals and explain their usages, how they work and why they work. We will explore many different topics which will include seeking answers from Heaven, calling upon angles, confronting evil and casting out evil spirits. There will be required textual reading for each class. Required text books (available on Amazon.com) will be JEWISH MAGIC AND SUPERSTITION by Joshua Tractenberg, WALKING IN THE FIRE by Ariel Bar Tzadok. We will also read selections from T. Schrire's HEBREW MAGIC AMULETS. We will also cover the LAWS GOVERNING THE OCCULT found in the standard Code of Jewish Law, the Shulkhan Arukh (YD 179). The audio series on KABBALISTIC MAGIC, THE STORY OF DELLA REINA is also required listening. This MP3 auto download audio series is available exclusively on KosherTorah.com Semester 2 will continue this syllabus. The following course which come after this one will be entitled Kabbalistic magic or Advanced Torah Mysticism 102. This course will proceed to discuss selections from the Book of Raziel and the Hekhalot literature. Both semesters 1 & 2 are required prerequisites for the entry into level 102. Knowing well that not everyone knows Hebrew well enough to learn the material in the original Hebrew and Aramaic, I will of course translate almost everything (but maybe not all). In this way, the class will be open to a greater number of students. REGISTRATION FOR THESE CLASSES IS OPEN NOW... Class 2 - Sefer HaBahir The Book of Brilliance - An Ancient Guide To Experiencing Spiritual Truths. Lessons #1-4 have already been released in written PDF form and available as an e-book in our Online Store. This course will deal with practical issues of experience as taught through the ancient method of parable and metaphor. This course is open to all students and is highly advised for anyone wishing to experience the true Biblical mystical tradition before it become encased with all the modern philosophical forms. Class 3 - The Books of Jubilees from a Modern Torah Viewpoint This semester we will begin the Book of Jubilees and be exposed to what may be the most ancient commentary to Genesis in existence. The legends and material covered here are priceless. They portray a viewpoint seldom seen in later Rabbinic literature. Yet, what they relate help us to understand many things about ancient Judaism (Torah) and the development of both legend and Law. This is a valuable course for Jew and Gentile alike. Class 4 - Lessons in Talmudic Legends and Secrets This semester will cover the legends about the practices of the Merkava (chariot) practices found in Tractate Hagigah. We will then proceed to Tractate Sanhedrin (Helek) to discuss Messianic Predictions. This material will be fully explained from the Sod (mystical) point of view, with emphasis on practice, not theory. Class 5 - Lessons in the Biblical Book of Judges To be taught in accordance to the ancient Hebraic traditions and mindset, alongside the original mystical elements that guided the mind of the author. Class 6 - Jewish Insights into the Christian Bible If there is enough interest in this class, we will begin by exploring the Gospels and their teachings in light of the Judaism of their times. We can also discuss Paul's viewpoints in light of his Judaism. These lessons are a first and are of importance to any student wishing to understand how Christianity developed out of Judaism and into its own separate religion.
